Each year people are exposed
to thousands of toxic chemicals and pollutants from our air,
food, water and soil. We all carry within our bodies a 'chemical
cocktail' made up of industrial chemicals, pesticides, food
additives, heavy metals and the residues of conventional pharmaceuticals.
The accumulation of these toxins in our bodies may adversely
affect the proper functioning of our different organ systems
and overall health.
When people consume foods laden with preservatives and pesticides,
they lodge in the body and can manifest themselves with a variety
of symptoms, including decreased immune function, nerve cell
toxicity, hormonal dysfunction and psychological disturbances.
Some 2,800 additives are intentionally added to what we eat.
The average North american consumes about 14 pounds of additives
per year. As many as 10,000 or more additives or toxins find
their way into food indirectly as it is grown, processed, packaged,
and stored. These chemicals include hormones and antibiotics
fed to animals and pesticides used on plants and crops.
One of the body's natural means of staying healthy is its ability
to detoxify itself. Many of the harmful substances we absorb,
inhale or create are rendered harmless and expelled from the
body. The organs of detoxification and the bowels, liver, kidneys,
lungs and skin. Avoiding harmful substances and cleansing your
organs is vital in maintaining good health. Sufficient fluid
intake (filtered water) supports the elimination functions of
the kidneys, bowels and the skin.
A poorly functioning digestive tract can turn even the best
of foods into metabolic poisons in the form of acids, gases,
alcohol and carcinogens. Auto-intoxication is the process in
which the body poisons itself with toxins that cannot be processed
by the body's overloaded, undernourished or genetically compromised
elimination systems. If the organs of elimination are not functioning
efficiently, waste matter may not be properly eliminated and
the toxic residue may be reabsorbed into the bloodstream. This
can cause poor health symptoms and effects.
It is virtually impossible to escape the absorption of toxic
substances. Humans eat at the top of the food chain, which means
eating other animals, birds and fish as opposed to eating plants
and algae exclusively. Like humans, plants and animals store
toxins in their fatty parts. Toxins move up the food chain from
plants, bug, and algae to small fish or mammals, which is then
eaten by a larger fish or mammal, which is then consumed by
a human. Toxins may also be passes on to newborns thorough mother's
milk. At each level of the food chain, the toxins can become
more concentrated and can accumulate in the human system faster
that can be efficiently naturally eliminated, especially when
an individual is suffering from poor digestion and elimination.
It's apparent that, in our current environment, our bodies need assistance with their internal detoxification duties. The fastest and surest way to detoxify your system is by improving the quality of your digestion and elimination.
The Benefits of Regular Inner
Body Cleansing
We have begun to realize that removing
toxins from the body is an essential step in restoring health
and vitality. We can reduce the negative effects toxins have
on our health. The best courses of action are the maintenance
of a healthy diet, regular exercise to help keep our immune
systems strong, as well as using natural herbal cleansing program
to promote the expulsion of the unwanted toxins and wastes that
accumulate in our bodies.
Natural herbs are very useful in a cleansing program. Herbal
cleansing formulations, if properly formulated and balanced,
are very important to help rid the body of the accumulation
of toxins. Toxic accumulation is caused by eating overly processed
foods, a polluted environment, drugs, or from disorders which
can cause putrefaction and decay in the stomach and intestines.
The accumulation of toxins in the colon, liver, lungs, kidneys,
and the circulatory system can adversely affect many different
aspects of our health, including decreased immune system response.
These organs should be periodically cleansed of toxins to help
keep our bodies vibrant and healthy. Herbal Cleansing and detoxification
on a regular basis is the ideal solution to help rid the body
of potentially harmful wastes and toxins and serves as an excellent
foundation for preventive health.
The Most Effective Course
of Action - Cleanse Your Colon First
A good cleansing program should always begin by removing the
wastes in your colon, the last portion of your food processing
chain. You may cleanse other parts of the body such as the liver,
lungs, kidneys without completing a colon cleanse, but much
more effective and longer lasting results have been realized
by people who have cleansed their colon first. The colon's purpose
is to expel the toxins and wastes that it collects from the
other organs of the body. If the colon is not operating efficiently
and is full of encrusted toxins and wastes, then it may be recycling
waste products back into the body which can accumulate in our
organs.
One of the most frequent bowel problems that people experience
today is occasional constipation. Occasional constipation can
often be attributed to a low fiber diet and the lack of sufficient
water, which can cause our fecal matter to become condensed
and compressed.
A constipated system is one in which the transition, or transit
time, of wastes is slow and the consistency of of the stool
can cause strain. The longer the transit time, the longer the
waste matter sits in our bowels which allows proteins to putrefy,
fats to rancify, and carbohydrates to ferment.
The longer your body is exposed to putrefying food in your intestines,
the greater the risk of absorbing these intestinal toxins. Even
with one bowel movement per day, you will still have at least
three meals worth of waste matter putrefying in your colon at
all times. Your system can also become continuously self-polluting
by the gases that are caused by this stagnation in your bowel.
The long held belief of some health professionals is that many
people just have fewer bowel movements that others. This is
true, but they also neglect to inform these individuals that
those having fewer bowel movements are harboring a fertile breeding
ground for harmful substances. Alternating between constipation
and diarrhea, or diarrhea alone, can also be indications of
foul matter in your intestines. The colon is the body's sewer
system, and if not treated properly can accumulate toxins, which
can be absorbed in the blood stream.
Important Facts About the
Colon
- Lack of fiber and water is a frequent cause of occasional
constipation
- The small intestine is where most nutrients are absorbed
- Stress can affect nutrient absorption
- The large intestine absorbs minerals and water
- When the membrane of the colon is unhealthy (impacted with
wastes), it cannot assimilate and absorb vitamins and minerals
as efficiently as a cleansed colon
- The health of the entire body is improved when the intestinal
system is functioning at its optimal level
